Lovelace was established in 2004 and hosted its first lecture in March 2005. We meet monthly (apart from August and December) for lectures on a wide variety of subjects, broadly embracing the decorative and fine arts, delivered by proven speakers in their respective fields.

We organise visits to country houses, gardens, exhibitions, art galleries, museums, and places of special historic or architectural interest at home and abroad. We also arrange a Special Interest Day each year which generally involves two lectures in the morning on a given subject and a light buffet lunch followed by a further lecture or discussion in the afternoon on individual items associated with the subject of the day brought by members e.g. silver, jewellery, rugs, oil paintings, watercolours, chinaware, glassware, etc.

We are actively involved in Young Arts and wherever possible we promote Heritage Volunteers.
